In an alternative universe Ed Miliband is approaching his 4th boring year as Prime Minister

Alternate universe theory suggests the possibility that there are an infinite number of parallel universes, and that new ones spring into existence every time a choice is made.

According to alternate universe theory the universe where I decided to write this article is the one we're living in, but another alternative universe branched off at the moment I made the (probably correct) decision that producing a multiverse theory article on the root causes of Brexit would be a ridiculous waste of my own time, and did something else like go far a walk.

If alternative universe theory is correct then that means that in some parallel universe Prime Minister Ed Miliband is approaching his fourth year in office having decided to actively oppose ruinous Tory austerity dogma back in 2015, rather than following the hopelessly self-defeating strategy of Blairite centrists like Ed Balls and Chris Leslie who thought that pathetically imitating Tory austerity dogma would win Labour the 2015 General Election by appealing to soft-Tory voters in marginal constituencies.

In this alternate universe Ed Miliband was smart enough to realise that Labour offering a toxic prescription of yet more Tory-style austerity would drive away dozens of natural Labour voters all over the country for every soft-Tory voter they won over in marginal constituencies, and told them to go away and come up with an strategically competent and economically coherent investment-based alternative to Tory austerity madness, or get out of the shadow treasury and let someone with an actual clue have a go instead.

In this alternative universe Ed Miliband leadership presented Labour as the only UK-wide alternative to 5 more years of ruinous austerity madness. This strategy gave Labour Party activists a very clear message to get enthusiastic about and sell to the electorate, and galvanised the Labour vote resulting in a resounding defeat for the austerity-fixated Tory/Lib-Dem coalition.

This Tory defeat meant that there would be no referendum on quitting the EU, and that Jeremy Corbyn and John McDonnell would remain obscure Labour backbenchers as Ed Miliband was sworn in as Prime Minister, rather than becoming the guys who finally made Labour stand up, stop imitating Tory austerity fanaticism, and offer an actual alternative to economically illiterate Tory austerity madness.

What's the point in imagining this alternative universe?

The point is that imagining an alternative universe where Labour didn't continually track further and further to the right under the direction of clueless centrists like Ed Balls and Chris Leslie illustrates how centrism managed to deliver it's own worst nightmares.

First this clueless centrist agenda of ever closer imitation of the Tories managed to deliver the Labour Party back into the hands of genuine democratic socialists after two decades of control by pro-privatisation, pro-austerity centrists, and then to make matters even worse for the centrists their absolute ineptitude helped to give birth to Brexit too.

If Ed Miliband had become Prime Minister in 2015 there would never have been an EU referendum, and even if he'd still somehow still lost the 2015 general election to the Tories, the EU referendum would obviously have played out very differently.

Had the centrists actively opposed ruinous hard-right Tory austerity dogma from the beginning rather than pathetically imitating it, they could have made the very clear argument that the unprecedented collapse in living standards that people had been suffering was purely the consequence of hard-right Tory policies like austerity dogma, wage repression, the deliberate defunding of public services, and massive social security cuts.

But having actively supported these ruinous austerity policies, the centrists were left biting their tongues while the ukippers, the hard-right of the Tory party, and assorted extreme-right fanatics gleefully filled the political vacuum by blaming the devastating real life consequences of hard-right Tory austerity dogma on immigrants and the EU.

The centrists blatantly created their own political nightmares by enabling (Lib-Dems) and imitating (Labour right-wingers) the hard-right fanaticism of the Tory party, and now they're left torn between slinging abuse and lies at Jeremy Corbyn and anyone who supports his pro-investment economic policies in the vain hope of returning the Labour leadership to centrist control, and desperately trying to stop the Brexit shambles that they enabled in the first place by means of another referendum that they're actually quite likely to lose again given their abject failure to address the root causes of why the 2016 Brexit vote happened in the first place.

Imagining a calm and rather boring Ed Miliband approaching his fourth relatively uneventful year as Prime Minister helps us to understand the sheer idiocy of all the centrists who somehow imagined that the essence of political centrism isn't maintaining a mix between capitalism and socialism, but continually tracking the Tory party ever further towards the bonkers hard-right, no matter how blatantly harmful and self-defeating the economic fanaticism the Tories have been promoting.

But if the behaviour of centrists has taught us anything over the last three years it's that they're absolutely immune to self-awareness, and absolutely intent on bitterly blaming everyone apart from themselves for the absolute chaos they unleashed by deliberately denying the public any real alternative to hard-right Tory austerity fanaticism back in 2015.

They won't blame themselves and their noxious austerity-lite agenda for Ed Miliband not becoming Prime Minister. They'll blame literally anyone else from Rupert Murdoch for publishing that notorious bacon sandwich picture, to Ed Miliband for supposedly being too left-wing (!!?!), to people who voted Green/SNP/Plaid Cymru in 2015 (because they were the only parties that actually bothered opposing Tory austerity fanaticism at the time).

And they absolutely refuse to blame themselves for facilitating Brexit either.

Even when Lib-Dem centrists were part of the pro-austerity government and Labour "centrists" controlled the pro-austerity political opposition too, it's still somehow always somebody else's fault.

If only Ed Miliband had been smart enough to reject the centrists morally indefensible and strategically incompetent austerity-lite rubbish and actually given the public an alternative to get behind, but all we can do now is imagine what that might have been like, and marvel at the self-absorbed wittering of centrists who still outright deny the fact that their despicable austerity-appeasement opened the door to all of this Tory chaos in the first place.

Theresa May's message to Britain: "don't get old, don't get sick, don't lose your job"

The 2015 General Election was an absolute disaster to any non-Scottish person with even remotely progressive social values. The Scots could celebrate their remarkable wipe-out of the neoliberalism-fixated Westminster establishment parties, but elsewhere there was little to celebrate after Ed Miliband squandered his golden opportunity to win a landslide victory by opposing ruinous Tory austerity dogma, because he chose to offer a disgustingly unpalatable and uninspiring prescription of austerity-lite snake oil instead.

One of the few highlights of the 2015 election was the people of Wirral West seeing sense and ditching their atrocious MP Esther McVey.

The ruthlessly self-serving McVey had spent the previous three years acting as Iain Duncan Smith's merciless henchwoman at the DWP, and the people of Wirral West were rightly sickened and appalled at her callous attitudes towards the poor, the sick, the disabled, and the unemployed, so lost her seat, and her role in government.

McVey used to brag about how rising dependency of food banks is a good thing, and she also had a central role in promoting the draconian Tory sanctions regime.

The mainstream media rarely address the issue of the benefits sanction regime that McVey had such an important role in expanding, but even fleeting analysis reflects extremely badly on the Tory party, so it's no surprise it gets so little coverage.

The first thing to note about McVey's beloved sanctions regime is that despite a barrage of lies and denials (including from McVey herself), the Tories operated a system of benefits sanctions targets and league tables designed to incentivise Jobcentre staff into sanctioning quotas of people per month. The purpose being to drive down the unemployment figures by throwing people off benefits for the most trivial of infractions (people out of work and not claiming benefits are not classed as unemployed!).

The next thing to note is that the most likely people to get caught up in the Tory benefits sanctions regime are the most vulnerable. Just think about it for a moment. If you were a hard-pressed Jobcentre employee with a target of sanctioning let's say two people a week, would it be easier to go after the minority of hardened benefits scroungers who probably know the benefits rules better than you do yourself, or to trick a few people with mental health issues or learning disabilities into committing sanctionable mistakes?

Just take the case of the former soldier David Clapson who was sanctioned and left penniless. He died at home from diabetic ketoacidosis after his electricity was cut off leaving his supply of insulin to spoil in the fridge. When opposition MPs questioned McVey over the dangers of sanctioning vulnerable people like David Clapson, she responded by accusing them of "inflaming" the issue. 

Just imagine the scheming callousness of a woman whose own policies have resulted in a man's death, who refuses to accept any responsibility, but instead tries to play politics by posing as the victim herself.

Another important thing to note is that Esther McVey repeatedly talked out of her posterior claiming that the sanctions regime exist to "help" the unemployed. 

The reality is the exact opposite. Numerous studies have shown that leaving people penniless hinders their ability to find work. Just think about it. If you can't afford to eat properly, clean your clothes, get a haircut, public transport fares, your phone/Internet bill, the cost of printing CVs ... would you really be more likely to find a job? All the research says no you wouldn't. Esther McVey says yes you would.

Then there's the absolute kicker. It turns out that deliberately thrusting hundreds of thousands of people per year into absolute destitution actually costs the taxpayer more money than it saves in reduced benefits payments!

This means that Esther McVey's draconian system of condemning hundreds of thousands of people per year to absolute poverty actually costs the taxpayer vast sums of money, making it a grotesque example of taxpayer subsidised Tory malice.

After she was rejected by the people of Wirral West the Tories handed McVey a ticket back into Westminster by parachuting her into the super-safe Tory seat of Tatton at the 2017 General Election. Now, within the space of a year, Theresa May has actually appointed this callous and scheming woman as the head of the DWP.

Make no mistake, this appointment is a clear statement of intent from Theresa May. She's not going to reverse course and stop squandering taxpayers' cash on the kinds of wasteful,  socially destructive, and downright malicious Tory impoverishment schemes favoured by Iain Duncan Smith.

In fact she's decided to double-down on this kind of disgusting hard-right malice by appointing the cruellest and most uncaring of Iain Duncan Smith's minions to carry on his work of punishing and abusing the poor and vulnerable.

You couldn't really get a stronger indication of Theresa May's absolute contempt for the welfare of the poorest and most vulnerable people in society than the appointment of Esther McVey as the head of the DWP.

So be warned. This is Theresa May's unmistakable message to the people of Britain: "don't get old, don't get sick, and don't lose your job".

Is there anyone less deserving of a gong than Nick Clegg?

The rumour is that Nick Clegg is due to be handed a knighthood in the New Year's Honours.

Aside from the fact that the British honours system is an absolute affront to democracy, there's surely nobody less deserving of such a politically motivated award than Nick Clegg.

If we think back to 2010 we'll recall the fact that after decades of rebuilding and restructuring, the Liberals were a genuine third party, looking at securing well over 20% of the vote.

The Liberal Democrats were in fine form, with popular and engaging policies like their pledge to oppose any more tuition fee increases, and their determination to reform our outrageously outdated and unrepresentative political system.

In Vince Cable they had another apparent asset in someone who could talk about economics in an engaging and understandable manner. Before the General Election he cautioned against the fire-sale of public assets at below their true market value, and against austerity dogma with appeals for increased public investment in infrastructure projects.

By 2017 the Lib-Dem share of the vote has collapsed to just 7%, Nick Clegg is gone as party leader, and ousted from his Sheffield Hallam constituency too.

The reasons for this collapse in fortunes are obvious. 

 One of the main reasons is that Clegg and his Lib-Dem chums immediately betrayed everyone who voted Lib-Dem because they believe education is a right and a social benefit, rather than a privilege to be commodified and sold at the highest possible price.

By colluding with the Tories to increase tuition fees to £9,000 per year, with interest on the debts hiked to an absolute rip-off 3% above inflation, Clegg has lumbered hundreds of thousands of students with vast debts that over three quarters of them will never pay off, despite paying 9% of their disposable income in aspiration tax for their entire working lifetimes.

When it came to much-needed reform of the political system, Clegg betrayed that core Lib-Dem demographic too. 

Instead of making fair votes one of his red lines in the coalition negotiations, he capitulated and agreed to nothing more than a referendum on a worst possible voting reform called Alternative Vote. A voting system Clegg himself once famously referred to as "a miserable little compromise". 

The referendum was lost and reform of the House of Lords wasn't even attempted as Clegg actually sat by and watched David Cameron stuff the Lords with unelected cronies at a faster rate than any Prime Minister in British history!

Then there was Clegg's economics spokesperson Vince Cable, who went from warning against public asset fire-sales and ruinous austerity dogma, to serving in George Osborne's treasury, selling off the Royal Mail at way below it's true market value, and helping Osborne slash Britain's rate of infrastructure investment to the lowest level in the developed world.

What's worst of all is that the Lib-Dems are rabidly pro-European, and only the most blinkered of Lib-Dem fanatics could possibly try to deny the vital role Nick Clegg played in creating Brexit.

Firstly he enabled the Tories back into power and then backed their ruinous austerity fetishism and wage repression policies to the hilt, thus eroding the living standards of millions and creating the ideal situation for a massive public "fuck you" to the political establishment.

Then there's the way he normalised lying to the electorate with his absolutely brazen deceptions about opposing tuition fee increases. Watching Clegg completely get away with that extreme level of dishonesty surely emboldened the most shockingly dishonest Brexiteers like Boris Johnson, Michael Gove, Priti Patel, and Iain Duncan Smith.

Then there was his refusal to press the Tories into electoral reform to make the voting system fairer and more representative. Had he made the introduction of a proportional voting system a red line in his coalition negotiations, David Cameron would never have been able to win a thumping majority with just 36.8% of the vote, and he would never have been able to gamble the entire future of the UK on a whim like he did.

Not only has Clegg wrecked his own party and rendered himself so politically toxic that his own constituency got rid of him, he's also played an instrumental role in bringing about the Lib-Dems own worst nightmare in Brexit.

Anyone with any grip on reality whatever would look at a man who wrecked his own party, lied to the electorate, wilfully imposed ruinous Tory austerity dogma and wage repression on millions of people, played an instrumental role in delivering his own worst nightmare in Brexit, and even got dumped by his own constituents, must surely conclude that he deserves a badge of shame rather than a reward.

However the Westminster establishment club are so shockingly out of touch with reality that they can look at an incompetent, profoundly dishonest, self-defeating, and massively discredited charlatan like Nick Clegg and think he deserves one of the highest honours the nation can bestow on a person!

Nick Clegg's reward for such abject failure actually tells us way more about the ridiculous bubble of delusion the Westminster establishment club exists in, than it tells us about the man himself.

The Tories have positioned themselves over a demographic trapdoor

David Cameron was a purveyor of fanatically right-wing policies like austerity dogma, endless handouts to corporations and the mega-rich, destruction of workers' rights and privatisation mania, but he managed to sweeten the bitter poison pill a bit with some slick presentation, some socially liberal policies (like gay marriage), and a bit of centrist posturing.

Theresa May saw no need to appeal to moderates or the centre-right because she was absolutely certain that chasing the UKIP vote with an extreme-right makeover would win her a massive landslide victory.

She imagined that all she needed to do was devise government policy as if she were writing editorials for the Daily Express (regular outbursts of anti-immigrant rhetoric, threats against the EU, endlessly banging on about scrapping our human rights and clamping down on Internet freedom, bringing back educational apartheid based on selection at the age of 11, badmouthing public services and public sector workers, promising yet more tax-cuts for the corporations and the mega-rich, and constant jingoistic Brexit flag-waving) and the voters would flock to the polls to hand her a super-majority so big she could run the UK as a de facto dictatorship.

The fightback against Theresa May's brand of fanatically right-wing ultra-nationalism wasn't entirely successful because she successfully absorbed a great big chunk of the UKIP vote by waving the Brexit flag she'd opportunistically stolen from the Brexiters that she had opposed during the EU referendum debate (more out of self-serving opportunism than any real political conviction).

Am awful lot of sleepwalking Brexiters simply followed the Brexit flag without even thinking about who was holding it, but there simply weren't enough of them to prevent a massive shock to a complacent political establishment as Theresa May threw her parliamentary majority away in a modern morality tale about vanity and hubris.

The reason for this shock is a huge demographic imbalance between the under-50s who voted strongly in favour of Labour's transformative manifesto, and the over-60s who voted en masse in favour of Theresa May's disgusting prescription of more austerity dogma, more wage repression for people who actually work, more asset-stripping of the UK, more education cuts, and more attacks on our freedoms and civil rights.

There are many reasons behind this incredible demographic shift, not least the incredible social media virality of unashamedly left-wing independent media sites in comparison to the pro-establishment mainstream media.

It's no coincidence that those most likely to vote for Theresa May's brand of fanatically right-wing ultra-nationalism were also the demographic most likely to have no access to independent media, and who relied almost exclusively on the mainstream media for their political news and views.

The Tories and the political pundit class believed that Theresa May was right and that a thumping Tory-kip victory was inevitable, but when the results came in they reacted with shock and horror because for the first time in decades the English people hadn't voted the way they had been instructed to by the biased mainstream media propaganda merchants and their Tory lords and masters.

Research by Michael Ashcroft revealed a number of very interesting things about the huge generational disparity. The under-50s are very much more likely to believe that social liberalism, feminism, multiculturalism, and environmentalism are positive things than the over-60s.

Meanwhile the only demographic in which over 42% of respondents see unrestrained capitalism as a good thing are the over-64s (presumably because they're retired and they're happy as long as it's other people facing the low wages, job insecurity, and exploitative employment contracts associated with unrestrained capitalism).

There is a massive generational divide in Britain and the Tories' desperate lurch to the extreme-right under Theresa May has admittedly increased Tory appeal amongst the older generations, but it's created a demographic time-bomb by completely trashing Tory support amongst the under-40s.

It's absolutely clear that if the views of the retired matched the views of the working-age population then the Tories would have been annihilated in Theresa May's vanity election, but the problem for the Tories is that they don't have anything whatever to offer the younger generations.

Theresa May's stilted post-election repetition of the same old idiot fodder excuses for austerity dogma makes it absolutely clear that her script writers are totally out of ideas.

Not only are the tories completely out of ideas, but they must also fear that if they did actually have any new ideas, any moved to win back the younger generations with some socially liberal policies and a shift away from the fanatical hard-right territory they currently occupy could cause the fickle blue-kip demographic to abandon the Tory party as rapidly as they rushed to support it in Theresa May's vanity election.

By defining themselves as a bunch of fanatically hard-right ultra-nationalists the Tories have seriously damaged their political brand and positioned themselves over a demographic trapdoor.

Either they try to edge themselves off the trapdoor by abandoning the extreme-right territory and risk losing the fickle blue-kip vote, or they stay where they are and fall through the demographic trapdoor as their over-60 supporter base dies off and the under-40 demographic is bolstered with ever more young people who object to the Tories' hard-right policy of trashing their future in order to lavish ever more handouts on their mega-rich mates as strongly as they object to their extreme-right ultra-nationalist posturing in order to appeal to the blue-kip vote.

What ever happened to that Tory voter who cried on Question Time?

We all remember that time the Tory voter cried on Question Time because she felt betrayed by the Tories after they slashed her in-work benefits just months after winning the 2015 General Election with promises to "make work pay" and stand up for "hardworking people".

Some people were extremely harsh about Michelle Dorrell at the time. 

Nasty intellectual snobs on the left called her an idiot and said she got what she deserved for making a politically uneducated decision and regretting it (nice one! way to win people over guys).

The insults and contempt she got from the political right was very much worse, as she was attacked and abused by the Tory faithful using their age old tactic of attacking the person rather than responding to the actual point.

Well, Michelle Dorrell has learned from her mistake, and she's actually campaigning for Labour at the 2017 General Election (see video)

Michelle's abandonment of the Tories in order to campaign against them demonstrates something fundamentally important about politics:

Politics is not like football: If your team is absolutely shit, you have no tribal allegiance to them, you have no obligation to keep supporting them. You can, and you should, change sides.

If your political team lets you down, then find another one that better represents your interests. and anyone who isn't feeling let down by the Tories really can't have been paying much attention can they?

George Osborne is quitting as an MP

George Osborne was never even remotely qualified to serve as Chancellor of the Exchequer. Before he used his family connections to work his way into the Tory party elite he had only ever done two jobs in the real word, a spot of towel re-folding at Selfridges and some simple data entry work for the NHS.

When the Lib-Dems enabled the Tories to sneak back into power in 2010 Osborne's economic incompetence was unleashed on the nation. He repeatedly promised that his bonkers evidence-denying austerity agenda would clear the entire budget deficit by 2015.

Of course he failed. He failed spectacularly. It was well before the 2015 General Election where his level of public borrowing (measured as a % of GDP) exceeded the public borrowing of every single Labour government in history combined.

In the run up to the 2015 General Election the mainstream press gave the Tories a total free pass on this inept failure to deliver their number one headline policy objective of eradicating the budget deficit, instead allowing them to redefine their pathetic failure as a glorious success by letting the boast "we've cut the deficit by a third" and letting it go totally unchallenged.

The Labour shadow chancellor Ed Balls did more than anyone to help his mate George Osborne out by devising the weakest, least inspiring Labour Party election campaign imaginable.

On paper Balls had one of the easiest jobs in politics; making himself appear more economically competent than the floundering, target-missing economic illiterate George Osborne. However instead of opposing Osborne's economically ruinous austerity agenda outright, and pointing out all of Osborne's excess borrowing, missed targets and failed objectives, Balls decided to meekly imitate Osborne's austerity agenda with austerity-lite.

Ed Balls suffered the humiliation of losing his seat in parliament, but Osborne survived to continue his socially and economically devastating austerity agenda, unhindered even by Lib-Dem enablers like Vince Cable and Danny Alexander.

By the time Osborne leaves the House of Commons for the last time the deficit will still not have been cleared, and nowhere near it. The most recent Tory predictions admit that the deficit won't be cleared even by 2021, so that's 11+ years to achieve what they said they would do in under 5!

If Theresa May is reelected in June 2017 and then sets about marching the UK off a "no deal" Brexit cliff edge Osborne's promise to clear the deficit by 2015 will obviously be missed my even further.

The Institute for Fiscal Studies estimate that a cliff edge "no deal" Brexit would wipe between 6.3% and 9.5% off the UK's GDP, making it a much bigger economic hit than the 2007-08 global financial sector insolvency crisis that we've still not recovered from thanks in a large part to George Osborne's ideologically driven ineptitude.

Unfortunately the appalling social and economic legacies of George Osborne's ideologically driven austerity agenda will continue to haunt the UK long after he's gone, and the hard-right press will continue filling gullible idiots' minds with the bizarely counter-factual economic fairy story that the Tories are the party of economic competence!

The whistleblowers who admit that they unwittingly helped the Tories commit electoral fraud

Two whistleblowers have come forward to expose the lies the Tory party are telling about the 2015 General Election fraud in which they stand accused of cheating their way to electoral victory by unlawfully breaching election spending rules in 29 marginal constituencies.

The Tories have been claiming that they didn't need to declare the cost of bussing dozens of volunteers into marginal constituencies (transport, catering, hotels ...) because the volunteers never campaigned on behalf of the local candidates, but stuck firmly to just talking about national issues.

We already know that this is an outright lie. Even the Tory battlebus Twitter account openly named the local candidates they were supporting. They were so complacent about getting away with their financial doping electoral fraud that they openly bragged about what they were doing on Twitter.

Given their brazen Twitter bragging about the electoral fraud they were committing it would take extraordinary levels of credulity to believe that the dozens of bussed-in Tory activists never mentioned the local candidates or local issues when they were trying to influence the outcome of the election.

Now two Tory whistleblowers (Gregg and Louise Kinsell) have come forward to expose the Tory party lies by admitting that they "duped people on the doors". 

Louise Kinsell said that the Tory party claim that battlebus activists were only pushing the central government message are "rubbish, absolute rubbish". 

"We worked for the local candidates and MPs to ensure that they won their seat and we were sent wherever they thought we would help". "We had leaflets with their name on and rosettes with their name on" she said, "we were definitely canvassing for the local candidate".

Providing more details on what helping the Tories cheat their way to electoral victory entailed she explained that "in each area you were speaking about the local candidate and what he wants to do for you, not the big government in London, but what this man who lives here, what he wants to do for you, what he wants to change".

Gregg Kinsell said that "If people are saying, and the MPs concerned in these areas are saying it was part of a greater expense nationally for the Conservatives, that is a lie and an obvious falsehood. In that case I feel especially motivated to go to the police and go to the Electoral Commission".

The Kinsells also claim that there is a "code of silence" amongst other Tory party activists who were involved in carrying out the Tory electoral fraud.

Although it is possible to criticise the Kinsell's for their inexplicable devotion to a slimy and brazenly dishonest second rate PR man like David Cameron, they deserve a lot of credit for seeing the error of their ways and publicly admitting the truth that the Tory party are working so hard to suppress.

20 criminal investigations into the Tory electoral fraud are ongoing. The deadline for prosecution is May 9th 2017.

Given the Tories' open Twitter bragging about the electoral fraud they were committing, and now the testimony of these two Tory activist whistleblowers, it's increasingly obvious that the only way that the Tories can possibly get away with it is if the police decide to whitewash the whole thing.

I often criticise the mainstream press for their laziness, complicity and outright bias, so it's very important to point out when they have actually done a really good job of holding the powerful to account, as Channel 4 News have in this case.

The utterly hypocritical Tory attitude to electoral fraud

The absolute brass neck of Tories like Eric Pickles never ceases to astound.

The latest Tory wheeze is to massively exaggerate the scale of voter fraud in order to introduce new American style voter ID rules that would end up disbarring hundreds of thousands of poor voters (who are very much less likely to vote Tory than wealthier demographics).

Pickles' own report admits that there were only 130 allegations of voter fraud in the General Election year 2015, which means that the allegations of electoral fraud to votes cast ratio was 0.00025%, or one allegation of voter fraud for every 395,384 votes cast!

This minuscule figure contrasts sharply with the ratio of electoral fraud allegations aimed at Tory MPs. In all 29 Tory MPs have been accused of fraudulently rigging the 2015 General Election by faking their accounts. The Tory party orchestrated a deliberate policy overspending in marginal constituencies by falsely declaring local spending in their national campaign budget.

With 29 of the 330 Tory MPs elected in 2015 accused of electoral fraud, the ratio of fraud allegations to Tory MPs is 8.8%, or one allegation of electoral fraud for every 11 Tory MPs.

This means that in 2015 the ratio of electoral fraud allegations levelled against Tory MPs was 32,500 times higher than the ratio of electoral fraud allegations against members of the public!

Instead of addressing the incredibly serious allegations against his fellow Tory MPs, Eric Pickles is determined to distract attention away from the Tory electoral fraud scandal by pointing the finger of blame at us, the general public.

Pickles' report contains hundreds of recommendation points, but not a single one of them relates to the 29 Tory MPs who stand accused of cheating their way into parliament!

Sadly there are an awful lot of Tory tribalists out there who will celebrate this latest cynical effort to rig the electoral system even further in favour of the Tories by disenfranchising innocent voters who have done nothing wrong.

The irony is that if the opposition parties put up a fight against this latest Tory vote-rigging scam, the 29 Tory MPs who stand accused of cheating their way into parliament will end up holding the balance of power on whether to disenfranchise hundreds of thousands of innocent people.

As Eric Pickles report says in the introduction: "a group of people who cheat their way to power are unlikely to hold a higher moral standard when handing out public contracts, or making [other decisions]".
